Unit 2 I can do it. listening and speaking |
I. Teaching analysis 1. The analysis of the teaching material: It is selected from the listening and speaking part of Unit 2 I can do it. This unit is a warming up unit of the whole textbook, so it’s quite easy for the students. But the content of the textbook is too old for current students, so I just keep some important parts and add some new content. 2. The analysis of the students: This unit is easy for students, so the students are familiar with the content. And the students are young, they need something new to attract their attention. |
II. Teaching aims 1. Master the phrases: speak Chinese, speak English, draw pictures, sing and dance, play basketball, drive cars, serve customers and use computers. 2. Master the sentences: I/He/She /They can/ can’t ... Can you/he/she/they ...? Yes, I/He/She /They can. No, I/He/She /They can’t. What can you/ he / she/ they can do? I/He/She /They can... 3.Develop the listening and speaking skills. 4. Emotional aims: Once there is life, there is fighting! I can do it! We can do it! |
III. Teaching difficulties The content itself is not quite difficult for students, so the most difficult point is how to arouse the students’ interest and encourage them to speak out freely. |
IV. Teaching methods 1. Set a general aim of this class and divide it into some small ones to achieve. 2. Show a lot of videos and motion graphs to attract the students’ attention first. 3. Organize some easy but interesting activities to motivate the students’ learning passion. 4. Provide a real example for them to think more about their own jobs, life and future. |
V. Teaching procedures 1. Greeting Greet the students. 2. Warming up Watch a video and lead to the theme of this class. 3. Phrases learning Learn new phrases by some motion graphs. 4. Phrases consolidation Play a little game to consolidate the phrases. 5. Sentence pattern Master the sentence pattern “I can...” through the interaction between students and the teacher. Play a game to consolidate the sentence pattern. 6. Listening and speaking Finish some listening practice to master the sentence pattern of “ Can you...?”. Consolidate the sentence pattern through pair-work. 7. Micro-class Watch a micro-class to learn the language points of “can”. Read and practice the sentence patterns they have learned in the micro-class. 8. Exercises Finish some exercises to consolidate the important points. 9. Group work Students practice the sentence patterns again by making a presentation together. 10.Emotional education Educate the students to develop the important qualities in work and life. |
VI. Teaching reflection In this class, students are offered many chances to talk and practice, the skills of listening and speaking are improved. Besides this, the students are made to combine their knowledge with an interview, which is quite necessary for vocational school students. But it will be better if they can have enough time to show their talent in class. |
